Hisachika Takahashi gave each LJMU MA Fine Art student a fragment of a painting that he had originally presented as a gift to Robert Rauschenberg. When the painting suffered damage, Rauschenberg returned it to Takahashi to be repaired. Unfortunately Rauschenberg died before Takahashi could restore the canvas, so it remained in Takahashi’s possession until the workshop. The eleven students had two days to create a new collaborative work from their fragment, which then became part of Hisachika Takahashi: Antwerp 1967/Brussels 2013/Liverpool 2013.
